Why doesn’t the PRO version of EzyPAASS cost more?
EzyPAASS has been priced to make it affordable for everyone. The Accounts module is free and PRO is only $100 per month + GST (CPI indexed). Due to EzyPAASS being so stable and easy to use ongoing support is rarely needed. EzyPAASS PRO will save you money by reducing adminstrative time and decreasing or eliminating printing costs.
How long has EzyPAASS PRO (ie. Assessment and Treatment notes) been used for?
I have been using EzyPAASS for all my Assessments and Treatment notes for over 15 years. Commercially EzyPAASS PRO has been used since April 2012.
Can EzyPAASS keep track of EPC / DVA / Workcover referrral dates and treatment numbers?
Of course. Date of referrals and the number of treatments within the referral period are tracked. In the case of EPC the number of treatments is tracked as is the total number of treatments ’this year’. Just enter the number of treatments allocated and the start and end date in Patient Details / Extra Details. In the case of DVA entering a start and date will cause EzyPAASS to remind you when another referral is due.
Does EzyPAASS take advantage of the cost saving of emails?
Yes in 3 main ways:
1. Accounts and receipts can be emailed to patients on an individual basis or as part of the regualar Monthly Accounts. All you have to do is, one time only, enter a ‘Payer email’ address and click a box indicating that you want accounts / receipts emailed and the rest is automatic. Whenever an account or receipt is ‘printed’ for that patient it is emailed instead. No more printing, folding and putting accounts in envelopes and no cost of postage. Of course the account of anyone without an email address prints as per usual during the same Monthly Accounts process.
2. Reminder emails can be sent to Patients with appointments the next day.
3. Bulk emails can be sent to your selected GP’s or Patients with an attached newsletter or message.
What can you tell me about the account forms used by EzyPAASS?
Everything is printed by EzyPAASS on blank paper A4 width x 118mm high. Your commercially printed letterhead can be printed in an area 95mm wide x 45mm high area in the top left of the account form. (Or you can put your own made up letterhead in EzyPAASS under Admin / Personal Preferences / Alter / Letterhead and the program will print it. Set EzyPAASS to print your own letterhead in Admin / Personal Preferences / Alter).
ABN and Physio names and numbers are printed by EzyPAASS on the Account or ‘Tax Invoice’. Unless you want the names of the physios who own the practice on the letterhead don’t put any physio names in the letterhead. There is no need to have anything other than logo, practice name, address and phone / fax number.
The Ezy PASS account form will fit without folding into many available window envelopes but check first before buying.
Receipts print on this same size paper and same position of letterhead.
If there are more than 12 visits on one account the others are printed on another account form with the totals on the last page.
Why are appointments not made within EzyPAASS?
With the advances in cloud computing and syncing it is much more flexible to have appointments synced between computers, iPads and phones. In this way appointments can be checked, or made, in or out of the office at any time and automatically update other sites
How are multiple cases / problems / incidents recorded for the one patient?
Unlimited Assessments are allowed under the one patient code.
Can I upload my current data and / or exercises to EzyPAASS?
This depends on whether your current software supplier will allow you to Ecport the data in the correct format (Tab delimeted text file) with the attached field names. Sometimes the cost and time involved can be prohibitive and some suppliers will just refuse. An alternative is to run both your old software program and EzyPAASS concurrently for 3 months. New patient details and current patients are added into EzyPAASS as they attend while chasing up accounts on your old software. By the time 3 months have passed most accounts should be paid and you can use EzyPAASS pretty much exclusively.
How do I change the currency which prints on invoices / receipts?
Form version 12.7 onwards - Go to Admin/Personal Prefernces and Change ‘Country’ to where you live.
What does a typical practice hardware / software set up look like?
Front Desk computer: Recent or new iMac (at least 8G RAM) with Filemaker installed and EzyPAASS installed. BC4 file on the desktop and Seashore installed. EzyPAASS is open and run on this computer which is called ‘Hosting’ in Filemaker terminology.
Back Room computer: Maybe an older iMac with at least 4G RAM and as late OSX as possible installed. Another FM 13 program installed (you can’t jsut make a cooy of your other FM program). BC4 file on the desktop and Seashore installed. This computer accesses the data on the Front desk computer as a ‘Guest’.
Each physio has an iPad with Filemaker Go (free) installed (up to 7 physios to stay within FM limits of 9 user). More than 9 users means you will need to purchasse Filemaer server.
Body charts are done on the Back Room (or Front Desk) computer as they can’t be done at present on an iPad. (I am hoping this will be solved in the near future once Apple release a larger iPad and I find an App on the iPad whcih can draw on imported images and the cut and paste into EzyPAASS.)
Can I network the FREE (Runtime) version of EzyPAASS?
No this is a limitation Filemaker imposes. Runtime versions of Filemaker like EzyPAASS FREE cannot be networked. To network EzyPAASS you must be using EzyPAASS PRO a full version of Filemker on each computer you want access EzyPAASS from.
How hard is it to connect my iPad to EzyPAASS?
Not hard at all. Install Filemaker GO on your iPad.
Make sure you are running EzyPAASS PRO which requires a purchased copy of Filemaker on your main computer.
Make sure both the computer and iPad are connected to the same wireless network.
Select your computer under Hosts then tap on the Ezy file. EzyPAASS will open on your iPad and look exactly the same as on your computer.
Can I connect my Android tablet to EzyPAASS?
No I’m sorry but you cannot connect a tablet other than an iPad to EzyPAASS. This is a limitation of Filemaker which is the program used to write EzyPAASS.
